How much does it cost initially to purchase a nascar racing car?

I am a big fan of nascar and was wondering how much the inital investment would be to get a car and get on the track. like, do you have to have one built or can you buy a racing car. How do you get a driver? Also any information I am forgetting to ask about would be helpful.

1. People usually build cars themselves and hire drivers. There are also fees that NASCAR imposes for entering and regulations. It's a huge gamble as this could all be a bust as you aren't guaranteed in any races; you must qualify to enter the field. The stars you see on the track every week merely have the resources to make the field every week. The only income comes in the form of prize money unless you have a sponsor.
